Dear Lady Manton,
Thank you very much for your letter about the
Japanese attack on the Imperial Airways liner "Delia"
on the 31st January. I need not say how sorry I am
that your son should have had this unfortunate experience.
We have asked Hong Kong for an official report and
we are expecting to receive it shortly. Pending its
receipt I cannot of course say what action it may be
possible and desirable to take a gainst the Japanese. In the meantime I am most grateful for your son's
personal account.
Claire, Lady Manton.
Yours sincerely,
(Signed) HALIFAX.
